Hi there ... I bought mine from an eBay supplier, they are Meyle control arms and were £62 each, all new bolts from Belfast Audi (£32) and I also bought a two arm puller (£12) and a Draper Ball Joint Separator (£16) to make the job easier.

This is a great tip.

Though my (new) control arm was so tight going into the new bush that it started pushing the rubber out on the opposite side, i eased it back and poured some boiling water over the rubber bush thinking it might soften it enough for the control arm to pop in, when i re-tightened it eventually ended up tearing the rubber on the bush, i had the end of the control arm greased and also the inside of the bush, other that take a (last resort) grinder to the end of the control arm i cant really think of any thing other to do.

Ill need another bush for next time.

Any suggestions ?
Yes, this was also my undoing in the complete replacement procedure - inserting the hexagonal bar into the old "silent" bush.

- After getting it part way in on the car (console still in situ) I realised it was not going well so ended up taking the console off
- touched up the hexagonal bar end with some 280 grade wet and dry to clean and smooth it
- cleaned inside of bush mating surface
- sprayed with silicone lube
- used a new bolt to drive the arm from the front to push in the hex connection at back.

Just be careful that the threads in the bolt you use are in good condition as the old bolt in my case was not fit to use again as the last few threads were shot.

Good call Raymie, I believe all these bolts are single use 'stretch bolts' and Audi recommend renewing if you've removed them ...

Did this job about six months ago. I used a FEBI cast wishbone arm. Had to grind off the hex end in order to make it fit. Also, the pivot bolt snapped🤬making what should be a relatively straightforward job an utter pain in the backside. I think I would prefer to fit the pressed steel arms and rustproof them. At least the ball joint can be changed separately.

After considering replacing with cast arms I eventually decided to go with pressed steel as originally fitted. I did however give them some cavity treatment with Dynax before installing.

Hopefully they’ll keep me going for another couple of decades

Would you know who the manufacturer of the pressed steel wishbones you bought was and where you bought them from?

Thanks
