Howdy peeps

Noticed my standard A2 TDI is looking quite high at the front since new shocks, springs and top.mounts. standard parts were sourced for it ie non Open sky just seems a bit odd??

Also noticed a light rattle sound that sounds like its coming from the glovebox, noticed the bracket under the bonnet holding the turbo and egr control solenoids has had some additional insulation, is it possibly that bracket? Suspension is new so dont think its anything major!

Cheers

Will also take some measurements, wonder if it has the wrong springs on the rear, maybe open sky rear spring would correct it?

When Koni FSD shocks were a popular upgrade, some owners found the front end ride height increased slightly even when the original springs were re-used. Theory was the Koni gas shocks ran at a higher internal pressure which was enough to raise the static ride height a wee bit.

Which shocks did you use

Cheers Spike

From what i have been told its only the springs which influence ride height
I fitted a TRW to the n/s and a Sachs to o/s

Anyone know part number for open sky rear springs?

I fitted KYB RH1664

KYB RH1664 are shown as having a thickness of 12mm.

Spidan and Suplex claim 11.5mm thickness for their recommended front spring for the 1.4 diesel without sunroof.

Spidan 49515

Suplex 03170

So which rear spring do you reakon would level her up?
Thinking KYB again as it suits my purse tbh, rear spring lower seats are non existent if that could make a difference?

Most helpful but two questions.

1. 1.6 petrol with panorama roof is missing in your list.

2. What is the corresponding list for sports models? Apologies about the work involved but I have two sports models 1.6 without sunroof I need to refresh at some point.

Thanks.

Andy

Thats what i thought i was doing, thinking now the fronts new its showing the rear as needing a refresh

1.6 petrol with panorana sunroof is in my list.

8Z0411105AL (Front springs for 1.4 diesel without panorama sunroof and 1.6 petrol)
This includes the 1.6 petrol with panorama sunroof and the 1.6 petrol without panorama sunroof.

I haven't found any information on aftermarket Sport springs that match the original Audi ones. Probably best to get the OEM part numbers for the Sport springs for your car from an Audi dealer and look for aftermarket springs using those OEM part numbers. There might not be any aftermarket sport springs that "match" the original Audi ones.

Don't forget, it will take a couple of weeks to settle in a bit!

Also, if you had sport top mounts on before, they are shorter then standard top mounts.

@Howey - did your front end settle down, height wise, in time?
Funny was only thinking about my front end height this morning walking to the car, it's the same, I feel the front is approx an inch (2.5cm) higher than I would have liked being totally honest but the car does ride well.

Damn, thanks for the update! Just had the springs on my A2 replaced with the KYB 1664s and it looks a bit ridiculous.

No I wouldn't extend it to ridiculousness however it was until I put the correct rear springs on!
