Front Headlight Refurbish

Hi folks

I know I have asked this before but does anyone have recommendations for companies that do total refurbishment of front headlights? I need condensation removed. New LED lights? Cleaning of front and generally bring them back to life again!

I seem to recall seeing a company on line that does this but can’t find them. I’m not great mechanically or have access to a garage so this is why I’m looking for a company to do it professionally.

Any advice - recommendations please.

Drove our A2 in the dark last night, and the headlights have a definite yellowish tinge to them. At first I’d thought it was because I’d jumped straight from a car with LED headlights into it, but looking this morning the lenses are cloudy. Is this something that a refurb will sort out? Roughly how much are we talking for a full refurb? Only a quick google shows that for just over £140 Valeo will sell a brand new unit, so if a refurb costs more than half that I could be tempted just to replace...

As I have said earlier, last year I used a cleaning method to refurb my headlights but it has a limited life span by the looks of things. Also condensation has started to appear inside which doesn’t help either. I’m thinking of replacing, would these headlights by Valeo fit the A2? I have a 1.4TDI 90bhp 54 Plate. If so I’d be tempted.

That is a good price, I might consider that.

Well, I ordered the new ones in the end. Been away, but but didn’t expect a box this size to be waiting when I got home!!

I was convinced they sent the wrong thing, but no, two headlights take up that much space!!

HI All
To get rid of the tarnish look on your headlights you can use certain types of Tooth paste.
Google it, you will be surprised by the results.
Good Luck

If the internet is to be believed, it’s just a case of removing the bonnet, undoing two screws per light, unlcipping the electrical connection and then repeating in reverse to fit the new ones. However, the reality when I tried late yesterday is that the screws were siezed and wouldn’t budge!! I’ve given them a good squirt of penetrating fluid, so I’ll try again tomorrow!

The screws you talk about also allow adjustment of the beam, it's worth parking in front of a white wall and marking the beam location to enable replacement in the same angle/direction.

Also the connectors can be a bit of a trial. I think Steve Birchall posted on how to remove them... it’s easier than it seems apparently.
