Front right Wheel suspension knock then a twang

A2 users check your front wheels suspension. I have an A2 just done 72 thousand miles I am just about to be towed into the repair shop to find the exact fault. Car has been regularly service and cherished.

First signs was a knock as I went over a bump in the road, then as I turned the steering to the left to enter a drive-way, there was an almighty metallic twang. It sounds like a terminal failure anyone else had a similar experience?

sorry to hear about your problem.

Would be interested when they have assessed the damage if any!! what the problem was and what component failed and why?

Regarding the problem,not had any problems that you have decribed so far on my front suspension.

Sounds like broken spring or a sheared anti roll bar joint. Nothing too serious. Please post what it was and cost to fix.

I HAD A CLONKING NOISE ON MY A2. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE SUSPENSION MOUNTINGS. SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERS WHO REPLACED THE ANTI ROLL BARS AND THE ROLL BAR BUSHES. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. BUT NOW ITS GONE IN AGAIN TO THE DEALERS AND THE DEALERS THINK ITS A LINK TO THE ANTI ROLL BAR. I STILL MAINTAIN THAT IT IS THE SUSPENSION MOUNTINGS. ILL KEEP U POSTED.
 
I bought my 2001 1.4Tdi SE on Friday 7th May it has 37500 miles. On Monday 10th May it is in Audi Main dealers to replace a broken coil spring under Warranty. Audi Carlisle were very friendly & gave me a courtesy car until mine is fixed.

collected my car today. the link bar to the ant-roll bar was replaced and the problem has been solved. just collected the car an hour ago.

i'm experiencing a clunking noise on my A2 as well - but it appears to come from the front right wheel, sounds like a disc brake....do you think its the same problem as yours? as it only makes the noise everytime i make a left turn!!!
