Front strut lower pinch bolt/nut?

I just happen to have a pair of brand new ones upstairs waiting to be fitted when the 'kin Bilsteins are finally delivered - measured with a rule and sadly failing eyes it looks like 16mm to me.

....thing is, I thought 16mm too, though tried a 16 and 17 in failing light tonight with car on gound and it was a no go? Too small? It's not an odd imperial bolt is it?

Edit: oh, I didn't have any socket bigger with me tonight.

I'll nip out to the garage and check with a socket to be sure... perhaps it's just a layer of crud/rust on the head. Or someone else has been there before and put any old bolt in that was lying about !

Cheers Andy. I will take the wheel off and take a better look this weekend. Hope that someone before us hasn't 'bodged' it.

Oh rs... you meant the front strut. Thats 19mm.
