Front Wishbones, Warning of Incompatability

Let me know if you find a good source murdo...seems ebay prices are not cheap. One of those occasions when a trip to.the dealer may be sensible.
 
TPS are normally pretty good for genuine VAG bolts at reasonable prices. I also use vagbolts on ebay for some things (particularly those fixings shared with Golf IV). And also the link posted immediately before this post.

Hi Murdo,

The bolt N10141801 the large one that hold the wishbone to the console (ali cradle), has been superseded with N10640301. The difference is the original bolt had a smooth section (no thread) where it went through the wishbone bush. The superseded version is threaded all the way.

By the way, having had a chance to look at the TDI90 I bought from Edinburgh area that you so kindly inspected. I can confirm it is a great car and you summarised it very well. For your information the pulling to one side when going on and off the power was due to the above mentioned bolt having snapped as it was used to hold the towing frame (that is now removed).
