FSI startup

Hi all
My FSI has a weird thing on startup. SOMETIMES.
This is totally random and inconsistent.
Usually I start it. And it settles down to a nice idling RPM relatively quickly with no problems.
However. I'd say 1/5 times it'll idle too high on startup then the revs will sort of dip accompanied with like a burbling noise. The cure when it does this is to blip the throttle to say 4000 rpm and that'll clear it.

Any ideas?

1/5 times too high idle means what rpm?
When its cold it can go to 1200 rpm at the startup for about a minute to warm itself up before settling at ~800
 
It's not so much the high idle speed, it's that it's not consistent. It's the fact that the rev will drop then ome up then drop then come up.
