Sometimes the fuel realease works sometimes it doesn't and I have to open the boot to release it manually. The buzzer warning of the lights left on sometimes works sometimes doesn't, and I often leave my sidelights on. I have noticed that if the buzzer does sound, the fuel release operats as well, are these connected? Could it be a faulty fuse? Not very technical I.m afraid, just enjoying driving my baby!!

Hi Mendip, welcome to the A2oc
I've just checked a previous thread (see below) on filler flap problems and it looks like its controlled via the central convenience module, which, I think will also work the 'lights on' warning buzzer. I'd recommend you have a diagnostic scan which may pinpoint other possibilities as new modules are a couple of hundred pounds.
It would help if you added your location (nearest town etc) to your profile as we may have a local club member who could do a scan for you

It could also be the Door micro switch about £60, it did the same thing to me when i fist got my A2, it will also re arm the alarm once unlocked if you don't put the key in straight away, but as Spike has posted get it scaned and it will show up any faults

Cheers Phil

I have a similar problem.

But mine is with the drivers side rear door.

I can have it open and i can still set the alarm and get the beep etc to say that everything is shut.

I take it this is probably the door micro switch that is playing up??
