Fuel flap release button broken

Oh dear. My son spotted that the fuel flap release button had "fallen out". Sure enough, the button itself was on the floor. I tried to re-instate it but it now is sunk below the edge of the trim and doesn't move or do anything.

It's clearly broken and missing some sort of spring - any advice as to what part is required and how to replace it? Also is it possible to open the filler by some other means in case I run out of fuel before I can replace it?

There's info in the handbook on how to open the flap manually but I haven't got mine to hand to quote.
Iirc there's a rod behind the access flap to the rear light that you pull to open the flap.

My buttons was completley mashed by something from the previous owner. Front covers missing, still lit but did nothing. Used some thin nosed to get it out but replacement £8@ later was easy.

i also have this problem..

as both buttons now missing. please can you explain where to get £8 replacements again

Got mine from the dealer too.
How easy is it to remove the entire button and surround from the panel? Any tips?

I'm sure I used some long nosed pliers to grab inside the switch (make sure keys are not in ignition) then when it was out slightly you are able to push the clips closed that hold it in the apeture. Assembly is the reversal of removal.

I think my fuel flap button has given up, but I think it's down to the door courtesy switch being faulty.

Where is the door courtesy switch, and how do I fix it please.

Thank you.
