Full set of brake related warning lights

Hi

I'm looking for some suggestions as to where to start looking to solve an intermittent problem on a 1.6 FSI. At random intervals, the red brake warning light in the DIS cluster will light up along with 3 chimes. At the same time, the ABS, EPC and ESP warning light also come on and the car looses all power. The revs are limited to about 1500 rpm. Pulling over, turning the ignition off and restarting clears the problem and the car then behaves as it should (well it's a 1.6 FSI so it has a semi regular P0304 error - misfire on cylinder 4). Sometimes this problem won't recur for a few hundred miles, but on Saturday, I had 4 occurrences within 1/2 mile. Then I drove for 200 miles without any issues. Braking is unaffected by this problem. At about the same time as this problem started, the oil level sensor fault is displayed. I've has my local Audi specialist read out the error codes. We got the usual P0304 misfire, errors for the oil level sensor, but no others were stored. One thing I've just noticed from the photos I've taken is that this fault only appears to occur when the engine is cold. The photo shows the warning lights illuminated.

Has any one suffered with this previously and if so how was it fixed?

Many thanks, Robert

Does the rev counter drop to zero then go back up again, even though the engine doesn't stop?
If so then I'd be looking at the crank sensor. That's what was causing a similar problem on my previous A2, a 1.4 petrol, admittedly. It threw up enough random warning lights, including the oil and brake ones, to challenge Blackpool illuminations!

Not noticed the revs drop to zero. I'll keep an eye out for it next time I get the illuminations pop up.

Many thanks, Robert

I seem to remember a spate of ABS warnings at one stage. Wheel bearings were the culprit in that case. Not sure if this helps at all?

Does it happen after the car has been left for a while Several hours) and within the first couple of minutes of driving?
Turning it off and on again removes most of the lights ?

If so it could be due to (believe me) a loose oil filler connector (on the rocker cover and it is the bit that the oil filler cap goes into)
This allows air into the sealed crankcase and so the engine goes into limp mode due to the sensing of an air intake leak..

Hello, i have the same problem with my Audi A2, and i don't have the solution.
Please help me, i had changed a lot of things, i spend a lot of money and the dashlights are the same, with the same symbol on the dash display, at the same number of miles. Pls help me.

Check the ABS sensor on each front wheel.
These live at the bottom of the suspension strut, behind the brake disc back plate.
Follow the wiring to find them.
Remove the plug carefully and before you remove the sensor, clear out the grit etc .
You need a 5mm Allen wrench to remove the bolt.
It's likely that they will be difficult to remove, but be patient otherwise they'll snap.
Once out, clean up and make sure that the metal mating surfaces of the bolt, sensor and hub, are clean.
Reassemble with a smear of copper grease and plug in.
This may solve your problem.

Thank's a lot, hope tot resolv the problem, i will write here when i will have an resolt.
If someone else has another ideea, please post here.

Can anyone help me with this problem, i have the same type of problem and i don't manage to succed it.
Please write any solution, thank's in advance!

With the same dashlights on? Thank's for the solution!

Not exactly the same dash lights but the dash was lit up like a Christmas tree with warnings that weren't connected to the braking system. I swapped the brake switch and everything was fine again.

I had the same thing and changed brake light switch
Then it started blinking spirally thing light
I changed brake light switch again -- and the problem resolved
I think first one was faulty
