Fusion

Liking the Blue A2 in the pics (is it for sale? ?), also, are you a Sadist ??? Great Project, hope it is all worth it in the end.
Just for clarity - it is not the real me doing this project. COVID made me busier than ever at work and the resulting stress made me go out and buy a Nissan Leaf one day. I'm not sure how I thought that would help. But actually, it has!

The Blue one is my daily and not for sale - remapped tdi90 with OSS.

Progress has been a bit slow in the last few weeks but there has been "some" progress.

Fusion does now roll with the three mounts all "invented". The plan is to quickly get everything lined up so that we can get the driveshafts measured and made to fit. We will look at finessing/rebuilding the mounts as we progress. The plan is to have CAD files on every part we have to make so that we can replicate them. We looked at doing our own 3D scanning, but it's a bit pricey - if we can find someone to sub it out to, local to Cardiff, we will go down that route. Until then a tape measure, a piece of string and a caliper gauge will have to do!

Motor fully supported - plenty of room for all the ancillaries - we may well have to make a brace across the front to give the mounts more strength. The relative mounting points were just miles out between the two cars.

Temporary rear motor mount to rear of subframe. We really will have to replace that subframe (A2steve - one more thing on the list!) once we have everything lined up - it's the crustiest one I've seen. Just look at it!!!

What's next? We're hoping to have a good session on it next week. We're planning to temporarily stack all of the batteries inside the car to see where the weight takes us - paying attention to the height (so that we can line up the drive shafts) and the balance front to back.

We will be taking the doors off to give us easier access inside as we build the batteries in. There's a large hole to cut in the floor where the fuel tank used to be. The plan there is to drop a 10xbattery pack down into the cavity - totally the opposite way the Leaf was.

And, hopefully, will have a video soon...

Any update on this? Really interested to see how/if it’s progressed
