Car is off for Timing belt work. And the garage gave me a A2, I put it on MOT check to see if it was a diesel, which it is.. but it has no MOT, over a Month ago...
I am not driving that car or I can be fined 1k...
I am not saying anything untill my car is back in working order... I would never have known had I not checked to see if it's a diesel.

That's horrendous not sure I would want a garage like that touching my wheel barrow let alone my beloved!

Busy garage, easily done especially if they have a fleet of courtesy cars. I think if you had been stopped you would have very good grounds to appeal if it went to court.

Did you also check to see if it has current road tax? Are you "driving" it on your insurance or the garages insurance? Check your coverage.

Why did you get a courtesy car anyway? It'd take only a few hours to get the job done. Also make sure they change water pump and aux belt too, plus proper pulley alignment. They'd missed that on mine and the bottom pulley was literally shaking, but didn't make any noise. I'd just noticed it before a long trip too, which was lucky, as it'd have undo itself, and at 4am on the way to the airport, that would have been bad...

Double check everything, including fresh crack on side sills, paint on alloys and even coolant level. Perhaps even the bottom tray, which has to be gitted properly. Plus the alloy caps! Most don't know the caps have to be aligned precisely. One of the mechanics had even had an A2, but he was clueless too, that the ejector hole must be in straight line with the valve, or they can break the legs off. They done it twice on mine, now all 4 caps has broken parts, and they even tried to hide it 😡🤬!
Nowdays unfortunately you gotta check these mate.

Don't imagine their public liability insurance would be too impressed in them supplying a unroadworthy vehicle. Don't care how many cars they have in their fleet, simply not good enough!

Well I never drove it, it sat outside my house It was nice weather I used my push bike.
They where picking my car up and left me theirs, I think it was good will.
They where extremly appologetic and shocked that it had been missed. Explained to me they have been very busy 2 mechanics have left etc etc
mistakes happen it seemed genuine.
