Good A2 comment in Top Gear magazine

In the August 2009 edition of Top Gear Magazine, Paul Horrell talks about the VW Phaeton in his column. Part of the article says:

"This is one of those cars that, because it's so well-made, gives the impression of actually getting better over time. All the German companies have made high-watermark cars like this: the BMW 8-Series, the Porsche 993, the previous generation Mercedes SL, the Audi A2. Cars that last forever because the engineers just took over - and the accountants ran for cover. Such engineering extravagance won't be tolerated any more. So a car that's a legacy from the good old days has got to be cherished."

I think that is a great way of describing the what sets the A2 apart from 'normal' cars. Glad to see that motoring journalists recognise it.

Well they all come around eventually

Thats funny really i work for a car refurb company and up to the last 18months i was working on new (well 6month old) Fords and i thought they was not to bad, i had a MK1 Focus which i traded in for the A2
Well been working on Audi's for the last 18/24 months and because we have started to run out of cars at the bodyshop i'm working at, they sent me back our other bodyshop that i worked at for 10yrs (back on Fords) and well they are trully c**p so cheap my 7 yr old A2 looks, feels better and of higher quality than these new cars. You just get spoilt working with quality lol
