Hi guys,

Anyone visiting the forum below?

http://www.a2forum.com/thread.php?threadid=976&sid=e975b0f186b39b9c35b1334a64632f19

Page through the thread to find some more pictures. And read it if you understand German. Very interesting idea, I must say, and it looks nice too, especially the ones with the curved corners. Much like recent Audi models!

If I can find the bendable chrome striping in a shop nearby, I'll definately try it.
Hope it doesn't fall off in winter or while going through the carwash. That would be so embarrassing! [:I]

Haven't quite made my mind up about that grill yet... mmm...

I do like the twin pipes though, another set the other side would look good also!! As you can probably tell I'm a big fan of twin pipes!!

Could any of you german-speaking members try to find out were those guys bought the chrome strip?

The lower grid with round corners is just excelent!!!

Cheers!

The forum is a bit vague on that too. Lots of stores that appear to be 'local' to Germany.

However, I did find some bending chrome striping in the AutoStyle guide. Don't know if that reaches beyond the mainland (or even Holland), but you can recognize their catalogs by the barely dressed women in between the accessories ;)
Almost any respectable carstyling/parts/audio reseller has at least part of the Autostyle stuff. Or the catalog to order from.
Still have to visit my own store. And I know they sell autostyle gear.

There's a English part on the Dutch website: http://www.autostyle.nl/home.asp Click on 'Products' at the top, and enter 'chroom' (Dutch for chrome) in the bottom search field.
That should produce a list where there are several 'chroomsierlijst' items at the bottom and further up. The picture tells it all.

Hope that helps, even in Portugal ;)

Most of the chrome strips are from a german car supply chain called "ATU", I´ll try to find out the manufacturer. Some of the strips are originally for bathroom mirrors and are sold in hardware stores...

Bye, Frido.

@ frido

The manufacturer is RICHTER, the stripe has a 3M - coated-rear side which is self-adhesive (hope that is correct English ?)

It can easily be bend around corners. I also used it in the interieur, next to the power window - switches. I couldn´t imagine that would work but it stays in place...
