Seems that when I get one job sorted a handful of others rear their heads. I've just returned from a jaunt to North Wales (met up with Clackers when there too; top chap) & have been experiencing some electrical gremlins on the journey home. My wiper had been dodgy for a while, 'solved' by adding a new earth cable. Stopped working yesterday however. Wiper arm stops half way up & can only be returned by turning ignition off & on again. When driving I had a go at turning it on & off thinking the force of road speed would assist. Next thing I noticed was the bottom half of my DIS has disappeared! Never had any issues with DIS previously. I have an issue with driver door microswitch (at least that's what I suspected) & the issue with locks cycling when ignition turned on. I'm suspecting an earthing issue but thought I'd ask on here before I get an auto electrician out.

I'm happy to help if you're happy to drive up the M6 by a few junctions. There aren't many electrical problems that I haven't encountered on the A2 and I know the model intimately. Some random auto-electrician may do their learning on your car, and I'm not sure that's what any of us here would want.

Well don't I feel stupid. Just realised that pressing the "Reset" button underneath the wiper stalk turns off the DIS! Back on now. And as a bonus, wipers are working fine too. Not sure if they were stiff through lack of use but all seems good now. Happy days!
