Handbrake Plastic Cover Noise...

Any ideas on how to stop that annoying plastic creaking noise when using the handbrake?

Maybe pad it with some thin foam? Or thin hidden pads to stop the plastic on plastic squeaks? :(

Can't say I've noticed mine creaking, do you mean the bit you grip? Is yours leather or plastic?
Cheers Jeff

The plastic moulding below the grip, above the tunnel.

I know now, mine was off at the weekend for new wiring loom! I guess like you say some thin foam or some sort of gaffa tape to make it a tighter fit!
I've just recieved today from Gemany a brand new sleeve for just under 3 euros! A bargain! But postage was £25 so I did get some other bits too to make it worth while, I'll try the new one tonight and let you know if it's tighter and creak free!
Cheers jeff

Mine made a a creaking noise when i replaced the handbrake cover (the bit with the ciggy lighter attached). After a small bit of repositioning i managed to cure it.

Its the triangle piece behind the leather grip.

Makes a cheap creaking noise when pulling the handbrake up

Its probably the triangular piece not "sitting" correctly into the handbrake "cig lighter cover" cover Paul. Try taking them off again and a refit - it may make a difference ?. Also try a slight squirt of WD40 high performance silicone lubricant - that can also help.

Found this old thread... Looks like I'm getting the cheap creaking noise from the handbrake cover going round corners...ie whenever the car leans.

I've tried pushing down makes no odds. Remove and refit with lubricant? Anyone fixed this successfully?
