From New Year we are happy owners of Audi A2 1.4 Sport Petrol with factory fitted S Line body kit, we always wanted A2 and when passing one on streets we always been saying that this will be our next car. Then when last year our Astra 2005 brake down( automatic gearbox), we know what car to buy. We start from gumtree, autotrader, ebay and local salons. meanwhile doing reading from web to gain more knowledge and A2 forum was great for that. Finally after seeing 5-6 cars , we buy the one we drive now. Car got 90000 miles ,have FSH, and running without a problem. Insurance and petrol wise very happy ( 35% cheaper then astra ).
Future First Mod will be ad a nice stereo , one we got now is just radio/cassette player but would like to have some aux and usb input but not fussy so far.

Hi War1ord, welcome to the club.

It's nice that you've had your eye on the A2 for a while and that you've finally got your hands on one.
The bodykit on your car has nothing to do with the S-line range. It is known as the Votex bodykit, and wasn't fitted as standard to any A2s; it was fitted at the request of individuals. S-line A2s were only available in mainland Europe, as left-hand-drive cars.

At the moment, your car has a Chorus II stereo. There is a CD changer port on the back of this that will accept various USB/phono/iPod/Bluetooth interfaces (see http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/home.php?cat=4). Personally, I would stick with an Audi head unit and add such an interface.

It would appear that your car already has one mod: the quad exhaust!

Cheers,

Tom

Welcome along.

The OEM H/Us do tend to have fragile buttons, but the sound quality is very good. I'd second what Tom said above re: getting audio into the H/U.

I, surprisingly to me, quite like that body kit in black. The exhaust mod is, err,.. Not to my tastes...

Hi thanks for info about interface looks like better option then christmas tree from Halfords hi hi hi, from what I browsed on web looks like indeed Votex Kit.
Quad exhaust was a final buying push factor for me on this one, ( Burble on low revs and when accelerating is just SWEET and not loud ) .

Hi there and welcome. To add to what Tom said, I think the Votex Kit is one of 2 body styling kits that was available for the A2, and I think it was the only one available through Audi. I cant recall the name of the other kit and have only seen pictures. If you ordered the Votex, this was a dealer fitted option. I'm pretty sure they were never fitted in the factory as there are many reports of poorly fitting seams which I'm sure would be unacceptable to factory standards. So look after it and dont lose any jacking point covers. The kit isnt avaliable anymore and the odd one that appears on eBay command silly price tags, with the separately available and more rare spoiler cover having been seen pitched at a 4 figure sum.

Hope you enjoy the car.

Yes, I'll certainly agree with that! I posted details on the Forum about my mod, to avoid this happening. It's simple, really .... just using tie-wraps as retainers! Well, only a week ago, I looked down in horror to see that the rear cover was missing! No need to worry, though ... it was still there and retained by my tie-wrap loop! So don't lose yours .... a lot of bother in replacement, that's for sure!
