Has anybody else noticed that A2 door check straps do not work?

I can look into longer screws, I buy the current length screws only because without the shim they are long enough, but say 2mm longer screws are only 50 pence per 100 more expensive, so nothing in the grand scheme of things. I have about 30 screws left, but will certainly buy the longer screws on the next buy

I still think that opening out the mounting holes in the check strap into ovals, is an easier way to achieve the the same result. The heat shrink on the T will also help to protect the nylon buffer, so this is a good idea. worth applying a little super glue to the T before the heat shrink is shrunk down so that it is glued in place as well

cheers,

Agreed re heat shrink, I used double sided 3M tape and then shrank onto it.

Good point re oval holes too.

Or use adhesive lined heat shrink? I've just been using some on my latest mod for the A2. It works well.

Hello Philward. What dimensions are the 2 socket cap screws used in place of the removed rivets. I don't want to attempt a door panel strip down until I've got all the bits. Cheers Chris
