Headlamp cable

Quick query.

When I was fitting the new bulbs at the weekend I unscrewed the two torx bolts and had the headlamp hanging out (with a cloth underneath to protect the bodywork) but could not detach the cable from the headlamp cluster.

I muddled through, but it wasn't ideal.

Is this correct – the cable is fixed – or was I just being weak?
Is there a technique for removing it?

You will be able to see the little 'clip' on one side, it will need a good squeeze to unlock, then slide it open. I have seen some really tight fitted ones and sometimes it may need a small flat bladed screwdriver to 'convince' the little clip to let go.

There is definitely a particular way of openin these clips and they are littered all over the A2 in one way or another.

I'll take some photos and post a how to later on - it's something that foxes a lot of people.
