Do you know how easy it is to replace the headlight?
Undo two T30 torx bolts and rotate the unit inwards in the vertical plane and this disconnects the locating spigots in the inner wing.
Doddle.
Then you will probably find that the 'seal' on the back of the headlight where the bulbs are accessed does not fit quite right. With it out it is literally a ten minute job to realign the seal and hey presto.....wet lamps disappear.
Photos on the forum with Christmas pressy digi camera.
Amazing stuff this 21st century!

The gasket has a join in it at the outer extremity, realign that as well.

I've made a few changes to the A2OC website today - hopefully it's an improvement!

Anyway, Maersk's photos can be found by using the new menu anc clicking: 'A2 Forum' and then 'Forum Photos and Tips'

You can then select his name from the list at top of the screen.

Has anyone any experience of the autolamps conversion? Details are:

Hello Mr. Larner
We cannot rely 100% on the manufacturers data but for the 2002 Audi A2
they do not list a model FSi, but for sure most of the Audi have H7 so
if you double check this with your handbook/owners manual it will tell
you which halogen lamps you have fitted as standard.
If it is H7 then you have a choice of 4100K or 6000K lamps
Here is the link to the details of the kits

quality of the photos these are being upgraded)

What about the line "For off road use only"?

Andrew - 2003 1.4 TDI Silver Climate

Beware - You also need to comply with the following or HID bulbs are then illegal, and you are no longer insured!

"The increased light output is used to give more homogeneous light distribution and to improve the illumination of the verges. The above are only achieved if the following 3 International regulation conditions are met.
The headlamps must be correctly aligned according to the regulations.
The vehicle must be fitted with an automatic headlamp leveling system.
The vehicle is fitted with an automatic headlight cleaning system. Without such the dirt acts as a diffuser for the light and distributes it in areas beyond the prescribed range."

It may not be too long before any fitment is illegal as none of the aftermarket kits I have seen meet these requirements.

Why are all the A2s in Lichfield are silver ? ? ?

I chose to change the low beam bulbs (dipped beam) to the philips vision plus (50% brighter 20m extra distance) £30 uk and 100% road legal..

Fog lamps = H7
Low beam = H7
Main beam = H3

Are we sure the headlamp washing is required as my VW Lupo GTi has Xenon discharge with autoleveling but no washers?

Thanks for the info Lee, certainly worth a try at £30!

I have the Vision Plus too and they certainly look better than the normal bulbs. The light is whiter with a hint of blue in it.

I also had very blue/yellowish lights but they where crap and looked cheap.
