Heated Mirrors - Reasonably Priced.

That particular eBay seller lists 4 Alkar mirror options for the A2:

Edit: The two cheaper P variants are the heated option, but they are of course intended for LHD. Alkar do not make any RHD versions.

The alkar have the blind Spot on the drivers Side and they are convex on the other side exactlz as the original ones!

in UK you need it vice versa, i thimk the part nummbers for uk mirrors are different bevause of that! it is not internachangeable!

rhd needs:

left konvex: (RHD original)

8Z2 857 535 A

links plan:

8Z2 857 535 C

links weitwinkel: (LHD original)

8Z1 857 535 A

rechts konvex: (RHD original)

8Z1 857 536 A

rechts plan:

8Z2 857 536 C

right blind spot (RHD original)

8Z2 857 536 A

My Alkars are blind spot an konvex matching the original numbers, the alkars from the uk ebay side are for rhd comparing the part numbers, so thats fits, blind spot and konvex are on the right side right with those.

So what is the difference between Alkar's P pair and their G pair (for anyone on mainland Europe wanting heated mirrors)?

In the headings of the four eBay listings, in each case immediately after "LHD ONLY"

Just refer to the oroginal parts Numbers you need for your car posted above, you can ignore the Ps and Gs.

Do not get the idea of buying white angel from lhd fro rhd cars, this doesn`t fit, even if it looks like it should be interchangeable from the pictures.

I know that these are LHD mirrors, and as it happens I have no intention of buying 3rd party mirrors regardless of their orientation or quality. But I remain curious as to why the seller you linked to listed four, rather than two A2 mirrors. What on earth is the difference between the two pairs?

Isn't the driver's mirror always convex, i.e. blindspot version? So this means LHD & RHD driver's mirrors are different, hence 4 part numbers.

All four Alkar A2 mirrors listed on eBay are LHD only and I'm trying to understand what the difference is between those two pairs.

I've answered my own question, via the Alkar website. The cheaper P mirrors are heated, the more expensive G mirrors aren't. And all four are of course LHD.

The photos also show that one set are heated and the others not - but I only noticed this after you noted the difference above.

Just for reference - standard right hand drive A2 heated mirrors have the follwing part No's.

Left hand side convex - 8Z2 857 535A
Right hand side aspherical wide-angle - 8Z2 857 536A

Notice that 8Z2 denotes a right hand drive vehicle.

As has been already said, do not buy LHD vehicle mirrors for a RHD vehicle as you'll be visually impaired.

Cheers
Jeff

Out of stock for the drivers side.
Definitely going to be ordering some of these soon.
