heated mirrors

Well I bit the bullet today and brought audi heated mirrors. They were compleatly different from the after market
Ones I had brought before. They were a sinch to fit and will go in and work!
Not like the first ones I got.

I know they are good arent they but bloody expensive, i suppose i am moaning because i wont be able to use them until next winter, but a nice easy job and glad you are please with them too!

When you say you bought heated mirrors, are you just referring to new mirror glass??

Reason I ask is that I have one black and one white wire with connectors that run into the mirror housing but dont currently connect to anything.

Is that what they are for??

Audi don't standardise on much of the wiring for optional extras but wires for heated mirrors seem to be present on every car. More info here on installation if your tempted to fit them - http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3136&highlight=heated+mirrors
They often come in handy in misty conditions and not just when its icy.

Hi John.

Those wires are for the heated mirrors. My wires are both black. I dont know if they changed colures on diffent years. Mine is 04, but I guess it dose not mater with the eliments.

if you dont mind me asking how much the heated mirror uprade costs?

I hate to say it the heated glass was about £88 including vat. But they say that you get what you pay for. I tryed after market ones at half the price, but they would not fit. I even got my winscreen fitter mate to look at them and he could not get them in!

So audi ones are pricey but worth every penny.
