Heating on TDi

Hi All,

My 2002 1.4 TDi has no webasto aux pre-heater, does it have an electric pre-heater instead? if so, where is it and which fuse?

Cheers

Yes it will have the electric aux heater. It is fitted inside the bottom of the cabin heater assembly and fuse 14.

Note like the Webasto several conditions must be met before the electrical aux heater turns on.

Thought the electric came later are you sure the webasto has not been removed by a previous owner?

How strange maybe they were changed earlier than I thought when was yours registered?

My 2002 AMF has one

I have a June 2002 AMF with one, and previously had a November 2002 one without.
Evening Ian,

As you know I'm no expert on when vehicle assemblies and arrangements changed but I can jump in between your dates and state that Project OEM is a September 2002 (52) AMF and has a Webasto..

Kind regards,

Tom

it will be a specific point in the VIN number where the change over was done, registration date is totally different from VIN build date,
not unusual for a car with a 2002 vin to be registered in 2003 and it is the registeration date which gets the number plate
hence reliance on the reg number is less than ideal

Yes I agree the VIN is the better indicator however I remember a 52 plate A3 which I ordered the belt kit from the dealer well tps only to find when I got into the Job it had the earlier set up which tps could not understand at all, can only imagine that vehicle had an issue and was pulled from production line.

No code for aux heating, and no female connection at position 14?
