Hello and Radio query :)

Mr Angry

A2OC Donor
Hi Guys...I'M BACK! lol

Just thought i would pop back in and say 'Hello' and also say i have purchased another A2 from fellow member MOI as i needed a runabout until i get my Seat Alhambra fixed and sold....nothing but headache since i've had that car however, i have a question regarding the radio. As this car came with the chorus cassette radio, i am looking to get the Concert CD single din and was wondering if this part number for radio would fit straight into the Audi. Part number is : 8P0035186C and it's from an Audi 2005 A3.

If anyone is selling one please let me know :)

TIA

Hello Cammy,

Welcome back Sir. Someone gave me a single DIN head unit last week and sure it’s a Concert but will have to check as it’s still under the false floor right now. It doesn’t have the code but these are easy to obtain. I’ll get a picture to you in the next hour once I’ve finished making up a few looms.

If it turns out to be of use to you then it’s yours for the cost of p&p; hope this is what you was asking as it’s been a long day here.

Kind regards,

Tom

Nice one Tom and very much appreciated so thank you.

Glad to be back. I would still have my A2 if it weren't for this bloody ULEZ. Thankfully i don't work in Glasgow but i have friends there and it's a pain in the @ss to be using the Mrs car when i need it :(

I have a few things to source once i give this a good run and comb over. This is the first A2 i've owned that has a tow bar and will be useful once i get a small trailer for sourcing wood for my multi fuel stove and other stuff :)

I've just realised that i still have my old signature and will look a little less congested in comparison.

Happy days :)

Hi again Cammy,

Here’s the Concert which was donated to me on Friday whilst collecting the latest Votex kit:

Whilst it’s probably not the prettiest, it’s also not the worst I’ve seen either. Ive not tested it but was assured it works by the previous owner who no longer required it after having a full A3 infotainment system and double DIN dashboard fitted.

It’s yours for the price of postage Sir which we can sort out later. If you’re interested then drop me a PM with your full name and full postal address and it’ll get its journey started tomorrow morning.

Kind regards,

Tom

Me again Cammy,

Just looked the the recent sale by @MOI and it looks to have a generation 1 Chorus head unit which isn’t turned on by CAN like the Concert I have ready to dispatch. The vehicle also has Half DIS so no infotainment/display CAN.

The Chorus you have fitted in your new A2 is powered up by an ignition live feed and not CAN.

Not having the necessary CAN wiring is very easy to overcome by tapping into the existing low speed comfort CAN wires which can be found in a few places, nearest and most convenient being the climate panel. More than happy to provide the necessary information to have the later generation head unit installed and correctly functioning.

Kind regards

Tom
