Information Hello from Germany

@BearMcPear now we run into the problems I've mentioned at the beginning: Me explaining technical things in English :D @audifan has already written about the difference you will notice instantly when looking at the engine. There are a few more, but they are all not so big: AUA has a fuel rail made of metal, the connections at the fuel rail a a little different, the oil separator is a bit different, AUA has no check valve on the camshaft cover.
The BBY is just the newer version of the 1.4 petrol engine (introduced 2003 I think), but the differences are not so big at all. If your BBY breaks down you can replace it with an AUA and the other way round.

HERE you can find most differences with pictures and so on - but this page is in German.
Thank you that page is very useful. :)
Now I know I have a BBY engine.

(...) they are quite rare, even in their homeland. Strangely, there are at least 3 in my small town here, plus my own & we cross paths frequently (...)
They other silver color.storm A2 I've seen is also located in my small hometown :D

Welcome, a lovely looking A2. I really like what you've done with the wheels, they suit the futuristic styling of the A2.
Thank you, that was exactly my intention :)👍

Anyone else just created a saved search on eBay for 8XA601025C ? (...)
Good idea 👍 I don't really know how rare they are in the UK, but in Germany they are quite rare. It seems that most people did not order them with their A1 - I can understand that because they don't really fit to the design of that car in my optinon. A positive fact from that is: When you finde those rims they are quite cheap :D

Thank you that page is very useful. :)
Now I know I have a BBY engine.
You're welcome :) It's a great engine 👍👍

Welcome to the forum @Smartrek - what an incredibly rare and special aluminium companion you have, very nice and very well kept.

Great to have you onboard. If you're ever in GB with your lovely car, be great to tie in your visit with a social event if practicable. @Seb_Gurkyh is a regular traveller and it's always a pleasure to see him and his red colour storm.

Safe travels and look forward to more content and photos to come of your lovely A2.
