Hello from Lincolnshire

After searching for a month and coming close I've taken delivery of my first A2. After seeing the display at Stanford hall I was smitten. So today I had a 2002 1.4 tdi 75 hauled across country. Full service history, recent timing belt. Very pleased as its my favourite colour of Island green.
It does need a little love here and there but nothing that can't be done in time, the usual worn button and knackered soft touch bits here and there.
Having never driven one i was very happy with how this one goes. Ive a feeling it may have been mapped as it pulls really well all the way round the revs. Anyone know if you can tell? I was wanting to get it mapped but dont want to waste my money!
I will be asking questions almost relentlessly im sure!

Oooooh very nice :) And the Beetle looks a stunner too.
It's been a while since I've seen an Island Green one in the real, like I said, looking forward to meeting you both at a social.

So pleased you are happy with it @SteveP. I'd never had the car mapped so I would too be interested to hear if there is a way to tell... Looks like i'm going to have to change my profile pic now too! All the best.
 
What a lovely "find" that is. Well done and welcome aboard. Do like your Beetle and full of admiration for the quality of workmanship on display.

That looks like a Webasto roof, the best in the day!
