Hi folks, just signed up today and first post.

Picking up a 2004 1.4Tdi 90bhp version on Monday from near Stuttgart so will have a nice 3 hr drive through the Black Forest back to home, close to the Swiss border near Basel.

We are long time VAG Audi / VW fans having had Lupos, T5's A3's and a Touran. Really looking forward to getting the A2.

Its:
90hp engine
New clutch / turbo
180kms
2 years mot equivalent
Summer alloys, winter alloys / tyres
Open Sky roof

Its been a 2nd car for owners wife and al the big ticket items are replaced, just need to be careful with the roof...

Its taken quite a while to get through scammers and bloggers to find a car... we have enjoyed tales of cars being in Spain, Norway, Eastern Europe even though the ad has had German addresses.. A lot of people work away from home and as its a long way to you, can we give money for travel costs via Western Union...

Anyhow, we meet the people on Monday who actually exist and have the car and pick it up.

Pics to follow.

Weather is set fair for Monday at 30 degrees, so plenty of opportunities for photos and SJ4000 (GoPro copy) filming.

And cake.

Everyone loves cake...

It sounds like a well cared for and cherished example; best of luck with the collection. Looking forward to the pictures.

Thanks one and all...

Quite excited about Monday... have an envelope of cash ready for the purchase tucked away. I don't see many €500 notes. Bit odd.

Probably my first questions will be care of the Open Sky roof mechanism having had a cabrio failure on a Smart fortwo which was also clever cables.... But there is a search function for that when the time comes...

Hoped to get it for this weekend in Lenzeheide and the Mountain Bike World Cup weekend, but hey ho, Touran it is...

Typical winter at home

Hi and good luck with your purchase-it sounds great. I had the pleasure of going to the Black forest for my first ever holiday abroad and first time skiing. Rather strangely every time we tried to order black forest gateaux it was sold out ! it was 33 years ago though. mike
