Yes Tom and Ian broke the news to me that I needed a check strap while I was there as well - apparently they hold a huge stock of @depronman's replacements in anticipation of the residency each year simply because something like half of all cars need at least one, so they chew through them at a rate of knots.

The last two years, if I remember, we got through a box of 20 in two weeks. I think the first of those years we even had to disappoint someone at the end of the stay because we'd run out. This year, so far we've fitted five out of ten we had on hand, although any of the three cars arriving tomorrow and two on Monday might have one needing doing.

That rear spoiler is now SO much better than when I saw it. Was really odd to look at when you came round.
Need to get my wheels done too. Where did you go?
 
Wheelie Fine Alloys in Coulsdon.
Bloke is called Bruce. 07970 255052. He’s done 3 cars for us so far. The A2 wheels are not 100% perfect if I was a pedant but they are fine for the age/value of the car. He does a set of 4/5 wheels for about £150, and our other car wheels still look good several years later.
