Hello! Just bought 1.4i

Hello,
I've just bought a 2002 aua 1.4i. It bought me with its blue interior.
I'm picking it up on tuesday.
It has some issues obviously being a car that costs 1500euro.
One of them is missfire on cylinder 1 when hot and idling(works fine when you give it some revs). I really hope it is some spark/fuel issue but if not I'm here for swap topics.
I've done few swaps over the years.
Kangoo4x4 with clio sport 2.0 178bhp
Ford escort 1.3carb to 1.8td from mondeo
gaz 27057 from 2.1 steyr to merc om605.
Searching what can I swap it easily with. 1.8t is tempting but a lot of work and not sure if that would be good for daily driver.

Welcome aboard I used to have that same interior in mine at one point, it was a big step up from plain black and standard seats.

There's a very successful project currently on the go which started out as a 1.4AUA, have a look here. Seems to be bringing a lot of smiles to @A2Steve's face anyway, and he's a man who's tried more A2 modifications than most

I also forgot to mention that my mother had 1.6fsi 2002 with some light interior and it wasn't looking happy. Few drops of rain from window and it seemed like someone was seasick inside. :/
She sold it 3 years ago. Wanted to buy it but when they heard I want to do swap for another engine they sold it to someone from the street
It was going very good but the HP pump was giving us headache and we had to swap it like 2 times for some other unit.
I also had lupo 3l for 3 years(did 80k km in that time) searched for 3L a2 but couldnt find anything interesting.

For 1.4i (AUA) misfires, my starting point would be to check - and probably replace - the coil unit (as well as ensuring that leads and plugs are ok. or new). Remove the coil from the block and check the rear of the casing - even if it looks o.k in situ our one had extensive shrinkage and cracking of the potting compound insulation on the underside of the electrical components and a cracked casing by the bolt hole that was allowing ignition sparks to earth and causing misfires.

Will check, only thing I could do on the field was change wires from 1st and 2nd cylinder to check if the missfire will occur on 2nd with wire taken from first but it didn't.
Will be checking every thing when I bring her home.
Also, roof not operating, hazard light only light up right side signals, and Light and Windows switches are scratched.

But on the plus side
Is interior colour, looks like it hasn't been smoked in as in the ashtray was some storage items like USB cable, pendrive etc. rear storage and cupholder, climatronic has nice buttons.

It has 16" right now that are curbed a lot but dealer agreed on changing to 15" clean pepperpots from a3.
Every thing will show when I have her home.

..hazard light only light up right side signals...

This points at the signal relay. Try cleaning the relay contacts before replacing the unit.
