Hello..New to A2's but not Audi's...

Hello all...:)
I am currently driving an Audi TT mk1 but i am looking to buy a nice A2 tdi that has been cared for with history....and keep the TT for weekends.
I have a maximium budget of £5000 and am more interested in condition/history than the age of the car. I have also not ruled out buying a 1.4 petrol.
Looks to be a lot of knowledge in this club and lots for me to read....:)

I too have a Mk1 TT and an A2 TDi, both with a *few* mods.

Out of curiosity.....why the A2 ?

Ever since the A2 was released i wanted one ....But with two kid's and not much money a had to stick with my old passat estate. Now the kid's are grown up myself and the wife have the TT convertable for fun, and need an economical car for the week with the occasional long trip to Devon.
Hopefully the A2 will fit the bill..:)....If i can find a cared for one.
 
£5k will buy you a lot of car
Good luck in your search

If ride quality is important then I'd recommend casting your net a little wider, but if you want a car that will never rust and is a cut above other cars of its era then it'll fit the bill.

Whilst I love my TT and my A2, if I had £5k I would probably buy an A3 or BMW 120d, maybe even a polo or golf bluemotion.
