Noticed a small hose hanging down from in front of the offside rear wheel , when car was up on the ramps it looks like a small pump, possibly to do with the auxiliary heater as this seems to have stopped giving heat , any idea of part number , parts name and cost ?

Thanks in advance

The auxiliary heater is in the front driver's side wing area under the bonnet, so it is not related to that.

The only pipes in the offside real wheel area would be related to the fuel system and it might just be the fuel tank breather?

When the heater starts the clicking noise comes from that area , like its a separate fuel pump for the auxiliary , also there is a pipe runs from it right into the front offside engine compartment , doesn't it have a separate fuels supply ? ?

To be honest I am not sure.

Yes it has a fuel supply and it may well come directly from the tank area rather than under the bonnet, but I don't know.

A pipe hanging down there would be spewing fuel if it was related to a feed to the Webasto.

I thought that too, the clicking is also considerably louder now that the hose is hanging down exposing the inside where the hose was attached , I'd say I'm 70% sure it's related to that , typical my auxiliary heater fails just as the freezing weather starts , lol

if its a little 10mm pipe it could be the breather from the filler neck as plugs on the side of the rubber filler neck under the wheel arch just above the back of the wheel and routes through the stone guard and outputs near the rear bumper, this may of come off and be floating arround.

The Heater that sits under the drivers seat area under the car is to heat the fuel going back to the tank , hears a picture of the heater,. IMG_0847.jpg
All the other parts for the fuel system are located on the passenger side infront of the rear wheel as was under mine a few days ago and removed all the heat sheilds for preasure washing .

I'm positive that pipe at the top right of your pic connects to the part I'm talking about , thanks

The part is out of sight at the very top right, I'm sure it's the end of the hose I mentioned that's snapped off ......if that makes any sense lol

I think the finned alloy item is a fuel cooler to reduce the temperature of the fuel due to the very high pressures of the PD engine,
It may be an auxiliary water pump which runs on to cool the turbo after switching off .

I'm doubting it being a water pump as it only starts its clicking when the auxiliary heater is used , never hear it any other time

The brushes wear out at around 80,000 miles on the 1.9 pd engines pumps,
small cylindrical pump in rubber bushes on those
