I have an Audi A2 52 plate 1.4 petrol

The ECP light is on and also engine management light

Took the car to be checked and got the following report:

VAG code 17809 - EGR Valve (N18) P1401 - 35-00 - short to ground
VAG code 16955 - Brake Switch (f) P0571 35-00 Implausible Signal
VAG code 17851 - Potentiometer for EGR (G212) P1443 35-10 Singnal too Low- Intermittent

Any idea how I can fix this after they reset the ECP and engine management light it came back after driving off not even 1 min later.

Please help

Hi when you say ECP do you mean the ESP light? if so the first thing i would change is the brake light switch-as this can influence random other codes being set off. Its a common issue.
Try that and report back cheers mike

Check that your brake lights are working properly, get someone to stand behind and operate them several times. I would imagine that you have a dodgy brake switch.

That won't affect the EGR error but it will be responsible for the warning lights.

As suggested get the brake light switched changed ASAP. They do seem to be a very weak link and indeed I had to have two genuine Audi ones fitted before similar problems settled down!

How easy is it to do it yourself ---brake light switched change ?

There are instructions on here somewhere.
No tools are required and you might have to be a bit of a contortionist but it is very doable and not worth paying for labour costs.
