Help on VAG part numbers

Hi all,

My Audi's front bumper (the lower plastic part with foglamps - see picture) is a bit damaged (under the chassis part).

On cart-partsonline, I have found two products :

N/S FRONT BUMPER TRIM A2 (FOGS)
A2 FOR VEHS WITH FOGLAMPS
L/H Cover with fogs

and

O/S FRONT BUMPER TRIM A2 (FOGS)
A2 FOR VEHS WITH FOGLAMPS
R/H Cover with fogs

I don't really know what the N/S & O/S as well as L/H and R/H stands for. Any clue ?

I'm also trying to replace one of the side plastic bars at the bottom of the doors (right passenger door to be exact) which has been scratched by some other car. Does anyone know the part number of this bar and the procedure to change it (is it glued) ?

Finally, the soft rubber which is located around the rpm / mph /DIS counters is slightly peeling.... :( Does anyone have a clue on what to do or maybe placing some custom trim (sline type maybe...).

Thank you for your help, and sorry for any mistake (french here btw! :D)

Cheers

Hi S, N/S means Near Side, O/S Means Off side, L/H means Left hand and R/H Means right hand.
Near side on a UK car means passenger side and Off side means Drivers side

N/S = Near side or the passengers side in a right hand drive car.
O/S = Off Side or drivers side in a right hand drive car

R/H = Right hand
L/H = Left Hand

Thank you to both. It seems therefore that for a non-UK car (left hand driver) I should purchase the L/H version right ?

I think that's down to where the goods are being sourced from, again best to email them and make sure before ordering ;)

A good rule of thumb is to ask for the part number, as this will tell you whether the part is for left-hand drive, right-hand drive or both.

A2 parts nirmally start with 8Z and then a number, either 0,1 or 2.

0 means it is not 'handed'
1 means left-hand drive
2 means right-hand drive.

So now you know!

Cheers,

Mike

Mike I thought 2 means right hand drive?!

Correct - a typo that I've now rectified!

Thanks for pointing it out Sarge (where did 3 come from!?)

Dear all,

I've just phoned to volkswagenspares.com and they have the front bumper at 160£ and the above mentionned front bumper trim at 10£. What's the trim used for ?? Is it made of fixation parts to hold the bumper to the chassis ?

Thanks
