Help please with TV option

Anyone know how to make the TV option on SatNav Plus remember that I'm in the UK? Every time I power it up I have to change the TV standard from PAL B/G to PAL I - I thought it was supposed to remember this setting?

Plus how can I store TV channel numbers into the 8 M1..M8 memories?

Final question (phew!) - where physically are the extra video inputs? I'd love to connect a DVD player or camcorder or such like.

My local Audi dealer are as confused as I am!

Im afraid I can´t help you with the PAL issue, but maybe on the others:

TV channel numbers: I have not figured that out yet, I always use the Search function. and the reception is very bad where I live anyway!

Video Inputs: They are located on the wide connector that leads to one side of the TV Tuner unit in the boot, you need a part for this connector which gives you 2x Audio and 2x Video RCA inputs (I have this thing fitted in my A2, works great, but was fairly expensive (50€), to hook up my iPod), but there is no way around it. It was made by a company called Dietz Automotive, part No. is 1230...email me if you need more info!

Hi Dave,

Yes its not obvious how to store M1 to M8 (manual channels) ! I asked my salesman and he couldn't tell me either.

Basically select the channel you wish to set (e.g. M1) using the up/down arrow keys.

You then tune the channel in either using left and right arrow (which search for a strong station) OR rotate the right hand control knob to select the exact channel number (21-69) that you wish to select.

Pressing the AS button will set the A1-A8 channels - usefull if you move around the country.

However, TV performance in the A2 is poor (compared to an S4 I tried) and the dealer could not make it work any better !

Your first problem (PAL B/G) definetly sounds like a set-up problem - is your car a parallel import - has it been PDI'd as a European car ?

The dealer should be able to run some diagnostic tests on it like they did on mine. If your dealer can't help then its off to Audi UK Customer Services...

A glimmer of hope is that many areas here in Germany switch to DVB/T broadcasts, where a digital signal ist broadcast, and there are small 12V-Powered DVB-Tuners to be had for around €80, some people have tried it and it seems to work very well...

I don´t know how the situation is in the UK....but the reception is poor over here, too.
