Hey all

My tdi is fine on hills if it is in boost you do have to be careful with gear changes my petrol is easy to drive up steep hills as it doesn’t require boost planning

I'm also in Cumbria so maybe catch up with you when you find one.
The TDi75 is no problem with the hills - the gearing is in fact quite short and I've even managed to get up Hardknott Pass.
sounds great if they will get up hardknott they will go anywhere!

I live just south of the Lake District, near Lancaster, and spend a lot of time in the hills. There's almost nowhere in Cumbria that I haven't been in my A2 TDI. It's been over Hardknott, Wrynose, Honister and Kirkstone many, many times.
The hills pose no problems at all, but the potholes are another matter. The A2 has a notoriously firm ride, with suspension components that are easily damaged by the rough roads and disintegrating single-track lanes. Now that A2s are between 15 and 21 years old, a vast majority on the open market will need to have their suspension renewed. This presents an opportunity to select components that are best suited to the roads you'll drive most frequently. I'd also strongly recommend that you fit a set of 15" wheels with suitably deep tyres.

Cheers,

Tom

Very tricky on a moterbike though, been there done it.
Entertaining I’m sure last biking Holliday I had was on my own for 5 weeks Did the south of France Spain Pyrenees top to bottom north to south bit hairy at times on an 1150 gs bmw full loaded with all my gear only dropped it once ..had to take everything off to be able to lift it back up again ..some of those tracks hairy as hell ..Came across a wild boar the size of a bungalow ??..

I was worried a little about the ride and having read another post was thinking about fitting 15” wheels. As you say some of the roads are like a war zone full of shell holes!! A more comfortable ride would be the way to go fit me. I live on the coast so the aluminium body will help there too
