Hi all,
Just thought I’d say hello (again) and what a great owners club this is!
I’ve been a member of a few over the years and this one, along with the old Corrado owners club are by far and away the best I’ve come across.
I did join up a few years ago as was looking for an A2 then but went for something bigger in the end but am now looking for an A2 again, it’s like an itch that wont go away!
I received some good info from members here last time so hopefully I’ll find the right car soon and be able to join in more.
Cheers,
Rob

Welcome back :) A2OC is definitely one of the best things about owning an A2 👍 Maybe that's why so many of us own more than one?

Yes the A2OC is excellent very friendly and extremely helpful, full of a great source of expertise and individuals who maintain and help others keep A2s on the road. After seeing other owners club quite recently it is commendable how well run the site is managed, other sites are heavily hit by spam posts which makes them almost unusable. Excellent site and place to find all information you need for an A2.

Is it very difficult to reposition the wheel?
It's a question out of curious interest.
Back in the years A2s were in project state, lots of cars from UK were brought to Lithuania with the cockpit repositioned.
For example, a SN95 Mustang (I have a passion for the SVT Terminator) has a fully symetric interrior and if I understood correctly (i may be wrong on that one), both sides of the front pre-made for an easy wheel swap.

As well as repositioning the steering column, you need the other dashboard and HVAC mechanicals, and there are a few other LHD/RHD-specific trim items. I'm sure the wiring looms would be different too. But I can only think of one person who will have seen under the covers of both LHD and RHD dashboards to know if they are the opposite of each other, or somehow different - that'll be @timmus.

Under the bonnet, I presume there's an LHD steering rack. The brake servo would need to be on the other side too, I believe this is what causes the pipes to/from the intercooler be routed around the engine on the RHD TDI's.

I wouldn't say it's a complete impossibility, but you'd really have to want to do it.

Not to mention the master drivers door controller, the wiper motor / scuttle area, drivers door key lock, B pillar switches, instrument cluster and the headlights.

Do not even know if the complete steering columns are swappable side to side.

Do not think the juice is worth the squeeze unless you have a complete donor car to supply all the bits

I guess it is close to impossible. :)
So the WAUZZZ8ZZ1N part of the VIN fully describes the car in its factory state?
I happen to know mine because the amount of Zs in it makes it very easy to memorize. :)
