The building work is going on and that's part of the problem......we have to have 1000's of new homes but no new infrastructure......so the one major hospital is in melt down, trying to get a doctors appointment is a joke 2-3 weeks in some cases and due to the problems in the hospital local GP's are being called in to ease the pressure there...............Best grab my tools and move to Cornwall then,I see there is a lot of building going on there,so there must be a demand for trades men. This problem with being priced out of the housing market isn't just happening in Cornwall it's nation wide.I don't agree with greedy people with cash buying up small houses for more income, but this again is happening all over the place
A lot of the houses being bought in Cornwall are second homes.......lived in for a few weeks a year then left empty.........not much help to those without the income to buy overpriced limited supply houses............even well paid jobs nurses, police, etc cannot afford to buy.
