Hi,

Since my headlights keep getting misted up (even since the cover is back on) I decided to take them out and let them dry indoors on a warm, dry place.
But now I see that one of lights (the wettest) has a thin film on the inside. Probably from the misting up.

How can I remove this ?? I am thinking of using demineralised water in combination with vinegar to rinse the inside clean and let it dry then. The vinegar should remove chalk (water debris) and the demineralised water would evaporate without leaving anything.

Has anyone pried the unit open ? Is it easy ? Or is it easier to rinse it and put some towels in to the lampopenings to clean it ?

I rinsed the inside with demineralised water and cleaning vinegar. There's a slit in the unit next to the dipped beam that allows the water to get out. So I put the unit on a cloth, glass down and poured the mixture in through the high beam opening. I shaked the mixture about so the whole glass was wet on the inside. I stuffed a cloth on the inside near the slit and turned the unit sideways to let the water out. I repeated this three times. The glass is now clean again. Make sure the adjustment mechanism doesn't get to wet.
The lamp is now drying again and I will fit it this afternoon.
