How to get diagnostics check in Glasgow?

Hi all,
I've recently purchased a 1.4 A2, entry level spec, and I'm very happy indeed with it.
It's low mileage for its age, and on my last measured economy run it returned just over 51mpg, so pretty pleased from that point of view.

however, the engine management light has come on, accompanied by the EPC light, and it is idling a little strangely sometimes - I've had a look through the forum and have seen a few possible issues, but the best starting point would be getting the diagnostic check run - can anyone advise what the most cost effective way of doing this is -I believe it can cost around £70 at the dealers?

thanks for any help!

Have a look on the vac com owners thread and see if there is any one close by who could do it for you.

Cheers

Cheers David,
I've sent a couple of PMs, so we'll see where that leads.
Can anyone tell me if there are there major risks in running the car for a few days with the engine warning light on?

thanks for the offer, not heading that way anytime soon unfortunately... actually thinking about getting code reader myself, but there are so many options on ebay etc - what should i be looking for?

If you have no joy with the PM's 'A for Audi' near Clydebank have a good reputation and they are half the price of main dealer rates.

Well, I've got my code reader (U281 CAN BUS scanner from ebay)
It pulled one code - 16407, from reading the forums here - there seems to be a bit of mystery over this.
the car seems to be running OK, and the engine warning light and EPC haven't been back on for good few days (went off themselves.)

Any advice on what to check next regarding this code?

Thanks!
PS cheers for A4Audi recommendation, my Brother in Law has used them several times, quite happy I think.
