I need to talk about Agnes !

Replace the battery with a higher capacity one. Tanya batteries or if any of the usual oem quality parts companies have any discount codes then get from them. Battery looks old and 74AH not really enough for your car. 80AH is what I use. Most diesel cars the battery nearly fills the space for the battery. Also check the voltage the alternator is putting back to the battery.

This battery is only 18mths old and replaced what looked to be the original one, which in fairness did fill the battery compartment.

The problems I am currently experiencing were there before I fitted the new battery though so I can’t see that the problem is battery related.

Electrics are only power and earth. Have you had the battery tested or voltage checked? Why did you fit a smaller battery?

I'm currently working in a recording studio not too far from Rotherham. I don't have a lot of time available and I barely have any A2 parts with me (just my diagnostics laptop and the usual cruise control kits that I keep in the boot of my car), but I'm happy to take a look at your car and see if I can pinpoint the problem.

Cheers,

Tom

How long are you up there Tom? If you need the CCCU I can send it in the post.

@Seveer I would bite @timmus hand off ( in the nicest way possible ) and take him up on his offer . If @timmus can't fix it it doesn't exist.

Thank you for your kind words. :)

That could be a good starting point.

From reading this thread, I can't be sure where the fault lies. Indeed, I suspect there are compound faults at work here, as I doubt a CCCU replacement on its own is going to solve all the problems, but it's a good place to start.

I'll be in the area for 3 weeks or so.

Cheers,

Tom

Scan... without one we're guessing.

My guesstimation is at least two seperate problems: a blower motor controller, and then a central locking TSG / Comms fault. It's possible there's a bus fault somewhere in the KI (as that's the main CAN Gateway) but that's going to be hard to find.
If a replacement Climate unit doesn't fix it at least temporarily, you have a blower issue. The radio one - I'm assuming it's an original radio? - that's a little strange, but along with the central locking issue would appear to indicate CAN is at fault.

Question: If you lock / unlock the car from the switches on the driver's door, what happens?
Does the interior light come on when you open any of the doors?
