I wouldn't have thought the relay would cause that, as it's on or off.
Replace the battery with a higher capacity one. Tanya batteries or if any of the usual oem quality parts companies have any discount codes then get from them. Battery looks old and 74AH not really enough for your car. 80AH is what I use. Most diesel cars the battery nearly fills the space for the battery. Also check the voltage the alternator is putting back to the battery.
I'm currently working in a recording studio not too far from Rotherham. I don't have a lot of time available and I barely have any A2 parts with me (just my diagnostics laptop and the usual cruise control kits that I keep in the boot of my car), but I'm happy to take a look at your car and see if I can pinpoint the problem.
Cheers,
Tom
How long are you up there Tom? If you need the CCCU I can send it in the post.
still doesn't mean it's correct.Hi,
I’ve certainly taken advantage of @timmus kind offer.
As far as the battery goes, it was never my intention to fit a smaller battery, it went to a local garage for a new one and that is the one it came back with ...
As Bret says. When my son had our car, the AA fitted a new battery which unknown to him (he's not mechanical) was totally inadequate.still doesn't mean it's correct.
