Im Currently listening to ...

Good to see a few of you into Sigur Ros, my favourite band, but whenever I mention them to people I get 'who?'. I never get bored of their music. The lead singer Jonsi has a solo album out and it's amazing. Saw him live on friday night at Hammersmith and watching Grow Till Tall live is the most amazing thing I've seen live and I've been to loads of gigs!
Also listen to a lot of Peter Gabriel, who i saw live earlier in the year on his Scratch My Back tour. Love film soundtracks too

Thought I'd resurrect this thread in celebration of a welcome return from Carl!

Currently on the Henderson iPod and home system is the new Killers record, ok but not the blistering presence of the earlier stuff. Sigur Ros new one - quite ambient. Have been well into Foals after Carl's recommendation.

New things (to me) I have got into in the last couple of years - Editors, the Boxer Rebellion (fab), Florence and the Machine and I am very taken with the honey tones of Miss Lana del Rey.

Murdo I Don't know how i missed this thx for resurrecting it ... I'm ashamed to say it but i did not even know that Sigur Ros had released there New Album yet...

I read a few review's and someone said that maybe this is the Album that they had always wanted to release i see what you mean by Ambient ...It's so easy to chill too .

Favourite track for me has to be Daudalogn this is just heaven to listen to closely followed by Varldeldur .. I was not sure of this album at 1st but it's been a real grower on me .

Florence is just awesome that voice could shatter window's absolutly amazing so much Power and i think the Dance One she did had to be the sound of the summer for me .

I've also got into Bon Ivor and Radical Face .... Theres some lovely Acoustic music around at the moment .

I Went to see Coldplay Finally this year I Think Fix You has to be the highlight of the year for me ... :)

Nice one Murdo! thread brought back from the dead!

Current listening to Hot Cakes, latest album from The Darkness. A bit silly, very funny in places, a couple of anthemic crackers and definitely music to drive to. Recommended if you liked their 1st album.

David

They did split when Justin got back with his girlfriend who split the original band up in the first place before the Darkness was formed, i think she's been kicked to the kurb. They reformed for Download this year and then decided to give it another go

Phil

I dont know how I missed them over the last decade but have recently discovered Interpol and bought all their records. Leif Erikson is a stand out track from them ( yes I'm a miserable sod!)

Currently the new one from Foals is on repeat. This is a classic! 2013's OK Computer. :)

Have had Get Lucky on heavy rotation the past week or so, along with most of Nile Rodgers' back catalogue...also John Martyn's amazing 'One World' album

Didn't even know this thread was here, keep it up!

With my new RNS-E I've dumped 32GB of MP3s into the SD card slots and playing them on random is fun.
This morning a track called "Doctor Jeckyll and Mr Funk" came on - never heard it before, was brilliant!

The new DP album is out on the 20th of this month. The same day as the new (The) National album is out. Oh & I'm seeing The Flaming Lips that night too.

So all in all quite a day..
Cheers, Hedge

Fantastic stuff eh wooly, sadly the great man is no longer with us... and I'm not shamed to admit that that is one of the only ever songs that has on occasion brought me to tears! Can also recommend the 'Solid Air' album, one of his bigger sellers
