Immobiliser

Hello,

I have a problem with my car. When I bought a car, the key fobs were'nt working, but as the car was starting fine, I thought maybe it's some problem with battery or they need re-pairing, but eventually i ended up with placing Eaglemaster alarm. But today I decided to try re-pairing and placing new batteries. Didn't work. But then I tried to start my car using only plastic key (got it when bought car). Car unlocks and starts only with that plastic key! So does it means that there is no immobiliser? When i put put to ignition,i can see yellow car with key inside on my dash which dissapears in couple of seconds. Any thoughts?

P.S I have 2 key fobs and 1 plastic (backup?) key.

Best regards,
Aivaras

The little yellow symbol with the key in it on the dash is the immobiliser light. If when you turn put key into ignition and turn the key to ignition this lights up and then disappears after a couple of seconds, this indicates that the immobiliser system IS active on the car and the key/s has been accepted as correct key/s and allows you to start the car. Therefore if you put any of the keys you have, in and this happens, then all these keys are correctly programmed to the active immobiliser on the car. The plastic key contains a transponder as well in the head of the key, and this allows it to be programmed to the car.

The issue you have is a problem with the remote operation side of the fobs with the Comfort unit, you will need these to be programmed to the comfort unit, for them to lock/unlock the car as well as arm/disarm. The problem lays with either comfort unit, remote fobs, or the programming.
