In the market for an A2

Petrol 1.6 FSI uses (and needs) 97ron but is cheaper to run on that. I monitor my fuel consumption (42mpg) but as i brim to brim I can monitor my cost / mile which is about 14p which i reckon is quite good. I have a very up to date 1.4 petrol Alfa as well and that does 12pence / mile or 46-47 mpg. Petrol is coming back into favour over diesel generally due to public concerns. However, a 1.6FSI with 110 bhp and 42mpg and a clean pair of heels from the get-go is quite persuasive?

To be honest, had not considered the 1.4 petrol, just thought it would be too underpowered.

WRT fuel economy, think we normally get 32/34 from etc Galaxy but been trialling more economical driving style, cruise at 65 on motorway etc hence the nudge up to 39ish. Would hope that similar driving of a 1.6 FSI would give me 50/52? TDI 65/67?

As a comparison for that, over the last year (according to Fuelly.com) my tdi costs £0.088p per mile to run over the last year.

I think you missed the £ sign ... ;)

With the latest fill it has come down to 60.0mpg
Apologies, yes missed the £ sign, but the p should not be there?

Realised my error and deleted my post as you replied.

Actually, I now calculate it 64.3mpg, 60% better than my FSI!

Am looking at a high mileage TDI with blowing front pipes. Apparently Audi stopped making these pipes last year, could anyone advise best place to get quote for these parts?

Thanks in advance!

You'll get part numbers here...
https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/
you could then contact Crewe Audi(on here), TPS or your local Audi dealer. I'd be surprised if they were unavailable.

They are still available but you have always had to buy the complete system at £680 currently
I replaced the flexi on my tdi75 last summer at the massive cost of £33 which was for the flexi pipe and a 50mm pipe joiner
I posted about the repair so a A2OC sure search should pull up the thread
I opted to mig weld the flexi in place but it can be clamped
Cheers. Paul
