Hi does any one know why my A2 idicators are flashing when the car is sitting with no keys in the ignition or locked, i have had issues with the keys not being sycronized and have been using the door lock to lock and open the car. i have been to audi and they have told me there is a problem with the convenience control unit and this is the reason for the keys not sycing , im not sure if this issue is related to the indicators flashing. The problem i have now is the battery goes flat very quickly because of the indictors, any suggestions or help thanks Kev

Hi Kev, welcome to the A2oc.
The convenience unit could be the problem but other than a diagnostic scan there is not too much you can do to check it apart from listening for a ticking sound coming from the passenger footwell (if you can hear anything above the noise of the indicators)
Failure of the actual flasher unit is a more common but I don't recall anyone reporting this resulting in the symptoms your having.

Another club member had similar problems but sadly did not report back on the final outcome -

Hi Spike,

thanks for your response, i have now ordered a ccu from Audi and will change it out tommorrow. since the last post i have charged the battery and the indicators (hazards) have been fine but for how long......., i take it when i change the ccu this should help with the key fobb/central locking issues i have??

i will post the outcome as soon as i replace the unit.

Hi Kev
The ccu is the interface for the central locking so it should fix those issues as well. I don't thing the ccu has a default setting and suspect the new unit will need coding with VagCom after installation.

Cheers Spike

The final outcome was that finaly i have managed to get the car to Audi once i installed the CCU and they recoded it using the VAGCOM, in the end i saved myself £30 by installing the CCU myself (which took the whole of 5 mins) then took the car to Audi for the recode.

cheers for the information

kev

could anyone advise me on the servicing details as i just spent £350 on a service (@ a indipendant garage) and thought it was a wee bit steep.
