I wanted to upgrade my 15inch alloys to the 17inch alloys as found on the A4 sport. I went to the audi dealers to verify if it would fit my A2, but they said it wont fit because the hubs are of different size. To make matters worse they said the alloys from the A2 sport (if fitted) invalidate my warranty if i also tried to fit one. Please, can anyone tell me who is talking pokies. I saw An A2 nutter with A8 19inch fitted to his A2.

to add;

the only difference I can believe between the wheels is possibly an offset difference, but I wouldn't have thought that would be different personally.

secondly, since when has changing wheels invalidated a warranty? Ask them exactly what part of the warranty becomes invalidated when you change the wheels?

Have fitted 17" alloys to my own vehicle without any problems what so ever. As mentioned before the offset dimension is very important. You need to keep to '38' to prevent the tyres fouling on the inner wheel arches or sticking out externally from the car which can cause suspension problems. The tyre width can also be a problem. I was told not to exceed 205mm. My local Audi dealership stated that the 9spoke sport alloy was perfect for the A2, and even told me that I would notice quite a difference when cornering. "Will go round corners like a go-cart" they said. Certainly has not affected my manufacturers warranty!
You mentioned the A4 sport alloy wheel above, which from memory has a PCD (wheel nut centre) of 112mm. Please bear in mind that the A2 has a smaller PCD of 100mm. Could this be why they stated that they will not fit?

The sport may have different spring/damper settings to go with the lower profile wheel - may be this they are thinking about.

1.4 Petrol Special Edition, Ebony Black, grey leather, heated seats, climate, opensky, five spoke alloys for SWMBO (Replaced a 2002 1.4 Petrol SE) Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 iCDTi for me.

I have a "Sport" Edition (which is called "S-Line" over here) and have switched the 17"-Wheels for the 16"-SE-Wheels, works fine. Other A2-Drivers over here have retrofitted the 17"-"Sport"-Wheels to their "normal" A2´s, with no problem.
The only thing that might go wrong is that the ABS-cables have to be tied a little higher so the wheels won´t scratch them.

Bye, Frido.

Mine is just the plain & simple 1.4 petrol.

I put 17" 9 Spoke A2 Sport wheels on my SE. Needless to say no problems! Handling is better, ride is "worse", but I like to feel the cats-eyes etc.
17" rims are incredibly easy to kerb. They improve your precision driving no end!

blimey, let's clear this up, shall we?
the problem is that the bolt pattern on the new a3, a4, a6 and a8 is 5 bolts, circle diameter 112mm.
A2, old golf, TT, old A3 - 5 bolts, 100mm. That's the problem.
You can find 18" wheels, 19" will also probably fit but i don't know of any wheels that would.
215 also fits - i have these in the summer, on 35mm offset 7,5x17 wheels. looks great and feels much better than the 205s on 7.5J.
and the 215s help protect a little more against kerbing - but if you want the go-kart feeling, go for the 205s.
