Sorry guys A3 forums are poor and VERY quiet. Seems like I shall have to linger longer.

I am the Fifth Column. I am no longer an A2 owner. The A3 TDI DSG is awesome - yoof influence - I do wear a baseball cap but NOT backwards.

Hmm, if you insure it under business, can you also use the car for social purposes as well? £220 is very cheap for FC, I paid £300 for mine with full no claims.

I have a TDi Sport. I paid £295, FC, business use and protected no claims, with the other half who has.....ahem.....several points. Plus a courtesey car, which I can have if my car is damaged and written off, not all insurance companies do the write off bit just repairs. This was with Diamond, the next cheapest qoute was £425! Diamond gave me 10% off for an online order then they called me and offered me a further discount!

I pay £284, FC, business use and NCP through Norwich Union Direct (via broker) - could do much better, but I'm one of the guilty ones who sometimes cant be bothered - lol

Norwich Union Direct-through a broker-how?

Perhaps £215 is OK for an old gizzard who has been driving for 27 yrs without an accident.(But they have been old bangers.Hope I can keep my clean record with my new baby)

Strange. Just checked, and the schedule says Norwich Union Direct, however the policy says Norwich Union - bit odd. I will ask my broker next time I see him.

Was the schedule produced by the broker? Could be why.

I pay £322, full comp and includes 2 of my sons, each an owner and driver in their own right. That's with Frizzells (Liverpool Victoria), but of course I'm an old fart, that's official I saw it on the A2 forum, so it must be true.

When you phone up for a quotation always ask the question: "what is the lowest insurance quotation you can legally offer?" Most firms have a recorded service for customer monitoring and they will be obliged to tell you the lowest quote on their computer screens.

Enjoy!
