hey folks, going to give the little buggy a good clean tomorrow and i was wondering what product people used to clean /shine door panels? i usually use a valeting gel, but i dont think that will work on the a2's door panel?

Warm water, a damp microfibre cloth and autoglym interior shampoo for staining. the textured finish on the door cards and dash doesnt take kindly to silicone based products - so a good clean every now and again, then a once over with a damp lint free cloth works for me every time.

yeh, its the textured finish on the door cards that have got some scuff marks on them.. can anything to be applied to them?

I dont think so - do you mean the door pockets at the bottom being marked with shoe scrapes? Trim panels arent as expensive as you think. The interior sill and B post trims are about £11 and £18 respectively, so if the panel is badly scuffed, think about replacing it. Skip will be able to give you the part number and exact price.

If the marks are just on the surface - try rubbing with a solvent before the process I posted earlier. - oh and remember to wear gloves ;)

If it's the door pockets that are scuffed, then unfortunately, they are an integral part of the door cards, which in turn are around £230 each!

True, the sill lining and the B pillar trims are cheap enough, as are the central tunnel trims (£18).

Cheers,

Mike

Ouch! - cancel the replacement thought then - get a' cleanin and a' scrubbin!

Flash one for all

this is the business it gets stains out of your oh-so-easy-to -mark se cloth interior and floor mats
It works well on door cards too even when they have had a good kicking. My wife did the interior last weekend after years of leaving both cars to me and she did one heck of a job! I then went over with a bit of autoglym interior stuff as recommended to by Skipton, to stop it smelling like a clean kitchen
Worked like a treat
