Ipod classic adaptor

Hi I'm new to the forum and the audi A2. I've got a 1.6 fsi sport that I bought recently. The documentation I had with the car is for a chorus unit but the unit I have is a symphony. Which model, I don't know. There is a picture below. Has this unit got the 6 cd changer built in. I haven't had a chance to test it so don't know. I want to fit a cheap ipod interface for my ipod classic. Will this unit linked below fit the connections on the back and does the unit have the cd changer socket on the back? I haven't had a chance to get the unit out to look as I'm in hospital with covid.
CTAADIPOD004.3 Car iPod Aux-In Interface Adaptor for Audi A2 A3 A4 TT
Also how would I go about getting the code for the radio if I need to remove it. Once fitted the ipod will stay permanently hidden in the car if this option works. Thanks in advance
Tony.

HI and welcome aboard :)

That is indeed a Symphony II with a front-loading 6CD. I don't think that Connects unit will work with it, although there are others in the range which will, using the external CD changer port, which the Symphony II does also have. At this point I have to bow out on the connectivity because I have only ever used a Connects2 with a 3.5mm headphone jack input. But I can tell you that once you remove the headunit, the serial number on the back would be all you need to get its code from various eBay sellers for a few quid - but if you're putting it back in the same car, you won't need a code because the ECU will remember the HU.

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery from the dreaded lurgy ?

Ok thanks for the reply. I don't want to spend loads on an adapter as I don't know how long I'm going to keep the car. All I want is to connect and forget the ipod and let it play through all its files without having to mess around with it. I'm not worried about bluetooth but also feel an auxiliary 3.5mm will be a waste of time as I want the ipod to charge as well.

I have a VW official iPod kit (complete with both old and new head unit connectors) that is brand new and boxed.
Happy to pass this on and not into my own A2 for £25 posted.

What is included? Is it a 30 pin connector for the ipod? I'm interested
@Lambytone - it is a 30-pin ipod connector and gives 'functionality' via the CD changer controls (CDC 2-6 selects playlists) and can skip/rewind tracks.

@Lambytone, sharing details like that is best done via PM. Hover over @Brickiebrownie's name and you'll get a panel with a 'Start Conversation' link. If you have an unread PM, the little envelope icon in the top bar will be red with a number next to it. You can also use this icon to start a conversation but you'll have to type in the username to talk to.

Edit - seems he's just sent you a PM while I was writing this.
