Is there a Central processing unit for doors and ABS ?

Good Morning

I have a 2001 1.4 gas A2. recently the car started acting up. First the window on the driver side (LH) stopped opening and now the door is not opening.
The ABS is engaging by itself, in short bursts. Both the break read light and the ABS amber light illuminate. Usually if I turn off the car and restart the car the problem goes away for some time. The problem returns at random intervals.

The shops here did not give me any help, most of them are limited to pulling error codes from scanners and changing oil & filters.

Before going after each system individually I was wonder if there is a central module, or processing unit that is connected to both systems.

Thank you!

Those errors codes would be the place to start.
There isn't a controller common to the symptoms you describe, but battery voltage, and earthing are common, and are often the cause of such symptoms, particularly when they come and go.
The error codes will, probably, give you a clue as to whether the causes are common, (voltage/earthing) or separate.
Mac.

The abs must have a sensor that is incorrectly gapped or the pick up is faulty. Using diagnostic equipment monitor the speed of each wheel whilst driving

Not convinced it is an ABS fault. Remember several systems are linked on the A2 and a fault in one can affect others. If for example the car is seeing steering inputs that are strange it will activate the stability program which in turn applies brakes. A full scan may highlight this.

Age of battery, correct rating battery, electrolyte level, charge of battery, alternator function and power and earths all need to be carefully checked and replaced as needed.
