I've finally bought an A2

Hi Everyone, Have wanted an A2 for years, almost bought one brand new about fifteen years ago, but ended up buying a Golf GTI instead:D. Anyway, late one evening about six weeks back whilst browsing Ebay a new listing suddenly appeared: Audi A2 1.4TDI, one lady owner from new, full service history, pristine condition, Azure blue. All my boxes duly ticked. Only one problem, it was 180 miles away in Cornwall:eek:. Next morning, after a chat with the seller, it was straight off to Cornwall with the missus. Four hours later I am gazing upon a beautiful Azure blue, Audi A2 and I'm immediately smitten. The deal is done and off we go. However, driving the A2 home I noticed that the steering felt slightly vague, so the following day I popped it into my local VW/Audi specialist for a check-up. Turns out that the garage that had recently fitted a new steering rack had forgotten to fully tighten the securing bolts. Browsing this super forum over the past few weeks has subsequently provided me with the necessary knowledge to successfully fit an Xcarlink bluetooth module. There are a couple more items on my wish list: rear parking sensors, auto door locking, and possibly a remap. Also, I have recently noticed a problem with the central locking: The key fob locks all doors except the driver's and also does not set the alarm. I can lock all the doors with the key and set the alarm, but if I subsequently unlock the doors with the fob all the doors unlock except the driver's door. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi. Congrats on your purchase. Azure blue is a very nice colour. Being drivers side door that is not unlocking i would suggest looking at the wiring loom from car to drivers door. The cables can work harden over time with the open/closing of door and snap. When you have access to cables(door card removed) gently pull on each cable in turn. If one is very easy to pull chances are it has snapped.

Thanks for that. A job for tomorrow weather permitting :)

Welcome to the fold, so to speak!
Great buy with one owner and fsh, super colour, I’m sure you be really happy with it!

Looks like you are not far away from me looking at your profile, I work in BANES and live close by, if there’s anything I can help with just let me know.

Thank you. Good to know there are others nearby. Haven't seen one A2 on the road since I got mine :)
